The Raw Food Diet - What Kinds Are There and What Does That Mean For You?

Certainly there are more and more people around today are beginning to understand the benefits that can be gained from undertaking such a diet compared too many of the others tried.

Certainly there are plenty of people who already undergo the raw food diet who believe it is the most logical type of diet for us to use. Remember that our ancestors were actually hunter gatherers and the majority of what they ate they did so in its raw natural state.

Also many of the people who use this diet feel that it contains certain enzymes and nutrients that our bodies don't normally get as they are removed from our food when it is cooked.

When it comes to raw food diets you need to be aware that there are certain types and each one differs slightly from the other. Below we take a look at just some of the kinds of diets that are considered to be raw food ones.

1. Raw Foodism - This is the type where you are not restricted as to what you eat but you must eat it either in its raw state or where it has been warmed through to a temperature not above 105 degrees.

2. Raw Vegans - With this particular diet you are only allowed to eat vegetables, fruits, seeds, sprouts, legumes and nuts. At no stage must you consume any animal products that includes both meat and dairy products.

3. Raw Paleolithic - With this particular diet you are allowed to eat meat and organ meat along with vegetables, fruit, honey, fish, shellfish, nuts and eggs. But what you cannot eat when you select to use this raw food diet are dairy products as well as legumes, grains and vegetable juices.

However, with every single one of these raw food diets the major part of what you eat (75%) should be in a raw state or not warmed to a temperature above 105 degrees before it is eaten.

Certainly the more foods that are eaten in their raw state then the more of the nutrients and enzymes your body will receive that would normally be lost during the stages when it is being cooked.

Although you may find initially you suffer some small unwanted side effects because of the drastic change to your diet these will pass once your body gets use to the new diet regime.

However, as time passes you will soon start to see some great improvements in the way that your body functions and how you feel. In a matter of weeks your energy levels will have increased and those extra few pounds you have gained may well have been lost also.
